Senior Story: Will is Graduating from UCCS!

A black and white photo of Will. He is a Black man wearing a Black UCCS shirt.

Meet Will, a senior at UCCS getting ready to graduate with his Comprehensive Higher Education Certificate in Graphic Design! Will says he chose graphic design because he has been an avid drawer all his life; now, he can put that interest into "making photos, editing videos, doing photoshop, and Canva." In addition to teaching Will career skills, going to college changed his life, because he learned how to be more social. Throughout college, Will went from "the same me to the new me!" During his time at UCCS, he gained new interests such as "reading books, writing, making new friends, helping people out." Check out Will's senior video to find out more about his college experience!

Will's Experience

  • School: UCCS
  • Area of Study: Computer Tech & Graphic Design
  • Favorite Part of College: My favorite parts were hanging out with friends and meeting new people. I also liked learning new stuff like doing more writing and reading.
  • A Top Memory: I went to a friend's house for Halloween, dressed up. We took pictures, ate good food, listened to music. It was a good memory.
  • Plans After Graduation: I'm going to live with my parents and save money so I can move out on my own. Then I'm going to travel the world. I'd like to apply for grad school in a few years.

Will's Words of Wisdom

  • What has the opportunity to go to college meant for you?: I made really good friends. I used to have social anxiety but now I'm more social with people.
  • What did you learn about yourself during college?: I learned to put myself out there and try new things. I listen to new music genres. I go outside hiking and take pictures of the mountains.
  • What advice do you have for incoming freshmen?: Don't be shy. Make new friends! Work smart, not hard. Also, ask for help if you need it.
