Molly Forney
As an Occupational Therapist (OT) and disability advocate, I want individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to be able to attend college, be employed, increase independence, socialize and network with others, gain life skills, and most importantly feel like they aren’t limited because of their disability. I am passionate about collaborating with these individuals to determine ways to create opportunities to participate in meaningful occupations.
I joined IN!’s Young Professionals Board because IN!’s mission aligns with my professional goals and I believe no parent should have to tell their child they can’t attend college because of barriers in society. This opportunity will allow me to learn from others’ experiences as well as share my own in order to work towards creating a more inclusive society.
Current position: Occupational Therapist at Gather and Grow Therapy Services
Experience includes: Gigi’s Playhouse volunteer, volunteered for Unified Sports, Participated in 1 and led 2 alternative spring break trips with a focus in disabilities, former education chair for Best Buddies
Education: B.A. in Health Sciences with a Minor in Psychology and a Certificate in Multicultural Studies from the University of Missouri. Master’s in Occupational Therapy from the University of Missouri.
