Berta Nicknish joined the board of IN! in August 2026, bringing nearly 14 years of experience in higher education at the University of Denver’s Daniels College of Business. Throughout her career, Berta has held a variety of roles focused on student recruitment, executive development programs, and academic advising. She believes students thrive when they feel a strong sense of belonging and have access to the resources, professional development opportunities, and individualized support they need to succeed.

A native of Northern California, Berta has called the Denver metro area home for the past 28 years, where she and her husband, Tim, raised their three children. She enjoys Colorado’s many outdoor activities, including hiking, skiing, biking, and tennis, and now enjoys traveling to visit her grown children. Berta holds a BA from Santa Clara University and an MA in Learning and Development from the University of Denver.
