Comprehensive Higher Education Certificates Approved!

ACC, UNC, and UCCS have approved Comprehensive Higher Education Certificates (CHEC) for students at their schools accessing inclusive higher education services! 

University of Colorado at Colorado Springs (UCCS)

The UCCS Comprehensive Higher Education Certificate requires a minimum 55 credit hours of academic coursework. Students choose an area of focus that aligns to their career goals and take 2 academic courses in that area each semester.  The 55 credit hours include 47 credit hours that align to their area of focus and 8 credit hours of Career Development and Self Determination. Students participate in the Freshman experience, known as Gateway Program Seminar (GPS), and a college success class called Academic Fitness. In addition to academic work students are required to complete career experiences, wellness, and social activities. For more information see: https://www.uccs.edu/inclusiveservices/

Arapahoe Community College (ACC)

The ACC Comprehensive Higher Education Certificate is 36 credit hours, including coursework and career experiences. As part of the certificate, students must identify a career goal, complete 18 credit hours in their major area of study, participate in a weekly workshop and study hall, complete a job shadow or internship experience, and submit a capstone project. To see the full outline of the certificate, click here

University of Northern Colorado (UNC)

The UNC Comprehensive Higher Education Certificate requires 72-80 credit hours be completed over four years. Each semester students take two courses in alignment with their career goals, participate in a GOAL support class, and complete a work experience.
